ABOUT THIS BOTTLING
Our seventh batch is the second of a pair of 10 Year Old Glenallachies that we’ve finished in two different cask types… big name DJs remixing old classics.
This release of 233 bottles has been finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry quarter casks
The process structure of the Glenallachie distillery was designed by the famous whisky architect Delme Evans. It was his last distillery project, and he finally managed to design the gravity-fed distillery he’d been planning since the 1940s.
In July 2017, Chivas Brothers agreed to sell Glenallachie to The GlenAllachie Distillers Company, operated by former BenRiach MD Billy Walker. - You’ll notice Billy Walker has a history of adding capital letters to distillery names.
NOSE
The PX Cask influence is immediately apparent with big rich chocolatey notes leading dark fruits; black cherry, medjool dates, and raisins
TASTE
A silky smooth mouthfeel with rich dark chocolate with raisins and nuts. Spices quickly follow, with a prickle of pepper that lingers long into the finish
