Can you believe it, Strathisla this is the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland, and this is the first ever Boutique-y release in our eleven years of existence!
This 10 Year Old distilled in April 2013 has spent its life in a single ex-Bourbon barrel until we bottled it.
The small stills at Strathisla help to give the distillery its character. Although on paper the spirit should be light and fragrant, distillation helps to add heft and weight to the new make.
The spirit is widely used in blends, Chivas Regal in particular, and the distillery is the brand’s ‘spiritual home’.
NOSE
A touch of honey sweetness with delicate floral undertones; heather and hedgerow blossom. There’s a soft citrus zest alongside fresh coconut and custard cream biscuits.
TASTE
A creamy mouthfeel with an orchard fruitiness; apples and pears. Sweet toffee and caramel notes, providing a richer taste, while gentle spices contribute to the complexity. Splendid!

Mayan Prophecy - While the press jumped on the Mayan Calendar ending in 2012 predicting the end of the world, we’re all still here! The Maya had many myths; one of their most important and favorite myths concerned the Hero Twins, a pair of demi-gods who became heroes and tricksters.
The picturesque Strathisla distillery has a twin malt kilns with beautiful copper topped Doig ventilators. Yes, it’s tenuous… Also it was distilled after the world was supposed to end.
