It’s a welcome return for this second release from the team at Circumstance. This can be labelled as a whisky as it’s passed that 3 year period in wood. It’s labelled a single grain as its 85% malted barley 15% unmalted Barley.
An English distillery, founded in August 2018, in Bristol, specialising in organic grains and long fermentations. They work long and hard to get as much great flavour into their spirits as they possibly can. These principles, with organic grains and non-traditional yeasts, produce extraordinary spirits. Their spirits are matured in a variety of ways using a variety of woods too.
Matured in a new medium char European oak cask, we’re expecting just 237 bottles.
NOSE
A prominent aroma of vanilla pods,fairground toffee apples, and sweet malted barley, all enveloped with notes of smouldering charred wood.
TASTE
A surprisingly rich, and full textured, mouthfeel. A malty sweetness, complemented by vanilla and toffee notes. Layers of oak driven spices linger in the warm finish with just a hint of coffee..
ABOUT THE LABEL
Alien Invasion - When we looked at what the team at the Circumstance, considered to be Britain's most innovative distillery, were doing, it just seemed alien to what the rest of the world have been doing.
Their new, and innovative ideas - spindle ageing, removing the necessity of oak casks, for example… out of this world!
