ABOUT THIS BOTTLING

You wait almost 10 years for That Boutique-y Brandy Company to come along, and then two get presented in quick succession! Yes, we introduced TBBC, albeit with a Calvados, in our last collection. This time it’s a Brandy from the much lauded Sullivans Cove Distillery.

Sullivans Cove in Tasmania could hardly be further from Scotland, but in double-quick time it has established a record that most distilleries around the globe would envy.

Our Sullivans Cove Brandy is a 9 year old. It’s a spirit of incredible complexity and character, from Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes,, matured for nine years by the unique Tasmanian climate and an American Oak, ex-Tawny cask.

It’s been bottled at 66.5% abv, and we’re expecting just 198 bottles to be available.

NOSE

An incredibly rich, dense nose. Loads od aged brandy notes, spicy oak, wet earth, baking spices, and maple syrup. Lots of dried fruit, too. Spices; clove, liquorice, and a hint of black cherry pipe tobacco.

TASTE

Sharp spices, rich and sweet oak, toffee, and dark chocolate, light wood smoke char, and a really nice rancio.

The finish is deep, and long lasting.

ABOUT THE LABEL

The label, from our in-house Boutique-y Brandy Company label artist Toby Dowling., shows distillery manager Heather Tillot standing proudly in front of rows of grape vines, stretching off into the horizon, The iconic Mount Wellington behind, and flying overhead is a Swift Parrot, a bird native to Tasmania. If you look carefully, you see a pin on Heather’s shirt above the pocket. It’s the shape of their still ‘Myrtle’.

Our deadly animal on the Sullivans Cove label is the Tiger snake, a large and highly venomous snake of southern Australia, including its coastal islands and Tasmania.

We hope Heather sees it!
