The Invergordon distillery, founded in 1961, is one of six operating grain distilleries in Scotland. Unusually, the distillery is the only Highland grain distillery, being located in the Highland town of Invergordon. The distillery has 3 Coffey stills, with the capacity to produce 36 million liters of pure alcohol per year.
Although the Invergordon distillery is based in a region associated with malt distilling, the combination of easily accessible cereal crops and its port, set it as an ideal site for a grain distillery.
Did you know that Invergordon was one of the first distilleries to release a single grain? In 1990, ‘The Invergordon,' a 10 Year Old was released.
Our 13 Year Old release was distilled in 2011 and has spent it’s lift, quietly maturing for us in a butt, (the finest, hand-picked obvs) until we bottled it. We’re expecting to fill around 248 bottles.

ABOUT THE LABEL
Our original label featured a fabulous illustration of a Coffey still, which took the pronunciation of the name perhaps a little too literally. Coffey sounds a little like coffee, hence the Moka Espresso coffee pot taking centre stage in our label evolution.
