Let's not be vague. We're delighted to be sponsoring the UK’s eight-time Tiddlywinks World Singles Champion Dr. Patrick Barrie with our bottling of Cameronbridge Single Grain Scotch Whisky.
As Dr. Barrie himself says, “Tiddlywinks may not be the most fashionable of sports, but it’s got a great mix of manual dexterity, strategy and tactics. I think that the image of tiddlywinks is set to change thanks to That Boutique-y Whisky Company’s sponsorship with their release from the Cameronbridge Grain Distillery, a distillery with nearly 200 years of history behind it.”
Founded in 1824 by John Haig, Cameronbridge was one of the first distilleries to produce grain whisky. We're pretty sure that Haig never played tiddlywinks, however, as it's said to have been invented some 10 years after his death. It's sad to think he'll never have known the satisfaction of pulling off a successful John Lennon Memorial Shot (that's a simultaneous boondock and a squop).
Tasting notes:
Nose: Butterscotch sweeties, mint chocolate and five-spice powder.
Palate: Runny caramel and honey, dried apricot and a kick of cinnamon.
Finish: Sugared almonds and vanilla ice-cream.
