A 3 Year Old Straight Bourbon from an undisclosed Kentucky distillery, that has had a chequered history. With the USA’s prohibition, I think just about every American distilley can claim this!
Our 3 Year Old has been bottled at Natural Cask Strength and we’’ve bottle just 347 bottles.
The original distillery was around for just 33 years before it was burned down in an accident prior to prohibition. It was rebuilt afterward, but production was up and down like a yo-yo before going silent for 25 years.
Renovations to the distillery started in 2014, and production recommenced in 2016, and in 2020 it returned to its original name.
This Kentucky Bourbon is made with a high rye mash bill; 70% corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted barley. Like the most of bourbon distilleries, the ‘sour mash’ process is used, three day ferments are standard at this large independent bourbon distillery.
NOSE
Gingerbread and allspice, with hints of mint too. Butterscotch, caramel, and hints of coffee follow.
TASTE
Buttered popcorn, vanilla and caramel. Gingerbread and baking spices. A hint of mint chocolate too. The finish is medium length, with lingering warming spices

Because this is an undisclosed distillery, putting someone from the distillery would give the game away. So stepping up to the plate, at 2nd Base, is our own Miriam Bau in Azzurri colours of course..
