A brand new label for our first ever whisky from Austria!
This is a 6 Year Old single cask of Broger’s signature ‘Burn Out’, a single malt whisky made using a heavily peated malt, matured in French Limousin oak.
What makes this slightly different from your run of the mill heavily peated malt is that when milling the grain, Broger retain the husks and include them in the fermentation, significantly increasing the peat quota.
The Broger distillery is a family business in the true sense of the word, as the team purely consists of family members and is affectionately operated in their leisure time, in their own home, which is slowly taking over every room, as we have shown in our SIMS style label.
Nose
Big! Farmyard funk and peaty tar. Hints of dark pipe tobacco, Black rubber, and liquorice, Underneath though, caramel, BBQ sauce, and sandalwood.
Palate
Oily and chewy. Woodsmoke and chimney soot, hard rubber, liquorice root, and an underlying sweet citrus note.
About the Label
There’s a SIMS style theme going on with our Broger label.
The Broger family house is slowly being converted into a distillery.
Their distillery is located near the mountains has a big ballooning scene which we’ve shown as a shadow over the distillery/house.It looks like the Swiss mountain goats are trying to break into the distillery, and have already broken the picket fences!
