A familiar label, from an undisclosed Irish Whiskey distillery. It’s our oldest Irish Whiskey that we’ve bottled to date!

If you know your Irish Whiskey history, then you should be able to close down on the distilleries this could come from. It’s a single malt, so that rules out Ireland’s largest distillery, Midleton as they don’t make a single malt commercially.

By the late 1970’s just two Irish Whiskey distilleries existed; Bushmills and Midleton, and it wasn’t until 1987 that a third distillery was operational in Ireland. Today, there are Irish Whiskey distilleries everywhere, and there is so much excitement within their category!

This 29 Year Irish Single Malt Whiskey has been finished in ex-rum casks. The outturn of this release: Just 377 bottles at 50.2% abv

Nose

Rich and complex. Stewed apples, rum and raisin, tropical fruits: melon, kiwifruit, dates, and muscovado sugar

Palate

Rich and deliciously salivating! This is fruity beyond belief! Stewed apples spiced with clove, melon, kiwifruit. Complex!

ABOUT THE LABEL

Back in the 19th century the Irish whiskey industry had little interest in the new, more efficient column stills being developed, even if the man behind the Coffey still was an Irishman.

On the other side of the table on this label are ambassadors James Goggin, Liam Sparks, Kevin Hurley, and Lee Peare, plus Bán Poitín's Dave Mulligan and Irish spirits enthusiast Charlie McCarthy.
