World of Smoke Series

World of Smoke Series

When one talks about smoky whisky, one automatically thinks of the big Islay hitters, but there’s a lot more to smoky whiskies than the Islay peat monsters. There are many different types of peat across Scotland, from Islay to Ardnamurchan on the west coast, to the highlands of Speyside around Tomintoul, to the East coast near Brora, and right up into the Orkney Islands.

Well we also love cinema, film, the movies, and the experience that goes with it: popcorn, sticky floors, betamax, VHS, laser disc, Blu-ray, streaming… all of it. Like great whisky or rum, cinema is so much more than moving pictures, films are stories that unite us, shared cultural experiences that creep into our subconsciousness and transport us through time and space to far flung locations seen and unseen, stories familiar, historical, contemporary, altogether new, or hitherto unimaginable.

Core Selection

Core Selection

We’ve long wanted (what the big boys call) a core range for the brand, and recognise that this core range should include some whisky cabinet staples: Single malts from Islay, Speyside, the Highlands, and a Blended Grain Whisky, and then, because we are Boutique-y, and our Head of Whisky is Canadian, a Canadian Corn Whisky! Whilst these are still ‘small batch’, blended in 1000L vats, they are repeatable and will become the bedrock of Boutique-y Whisky offering. And like our first continuous release, our World Whisky Blend, these will all be bottled in 700ml!

It goes without saying that we here at Boutique-y think whisky and rum are pretty magical. So much more than mere “drinks”, we believe that the contents of a glass can transport us through time and space to far flung locations seen and unseen, places familiar, historical, contemporary, out of this world or down the street, altogether new or hitherto unimaginable.
